MY NEW BATHING ROOM.

I promised yesterday to reveal something exciting about my new bathing room. I did not literally renovate my bathing room or moved out to a new apartment with a new bathing room. But I suddenly just had a new bathing room and am willing to share everything new about it with you.

Few days back, I went shopping for toiletries although unplanned I decided to change my bathing soap while I bought the usual for other items. After 48 hours of using this new soap the entire smell of the bathing room changed. Surprised but happy, I held the soap close to my nose and inhaled of the smell as much as I could.

This soap that has brought this new fragrance cost about N200 less the one I have used for quite a long.  Everyone should have thought it more expensive. Nah! I didn’t pick this new soap because it was cheaper. I just needed a change. Now I enjoy visiting my bathing room and spend quality time using it. Hey, I wasn’t having a stinking bathing room just in love what this change has wrought.

Change comes with a price either cheap or expensive. We should all realize that what brings a difference might even be cheaper beyond imagination. Changes come when we decide to do things differently.  Decisions and actions begets change.  New life comes with decisions and these are influenced by our ideology.

When I decided I was going to get a new soap I was only tired of the one I was using. I did not put the smell into consideration.  I didn’t even worry myself about the fragrance. I just wanted a CHANGE.  This change brought happiness though it wasn’t part of my plans.  Many of have made changes without imagining the entire outcome like me. This has resulted in your recent predicaments. We can become a better on if we make the right changes. Your life can smell better like my bathing room. Becoming poor or rich are result of decisions.

The Revealed Truth 2: The Bible and Smoking

Recently, I was preaching and answering questions from neighbours on some issues from the bible then one of them asked this question, “Is smoking a sin?” I would like to add this, “If yes, where is it written in the Bible?” I paused for a while before continuing with Holy Spirit inspired answers I gave same day which I will be sharing in paragraphs below. This is the same question many smokers ask hence the “revealed truth”.

Before I proceed, I hope you have read the part one (1) of the revealed truth and if not, click here. For sometime I shall be revealing some truths from the bible as the Holy Spirit Grants revelation(s).

Higher Living says Stop Smoking.

Whenever Satan wants you to do anything wrong he gives you reason that makes them right before your eyes and he positions you in the company of people who won’t see anything wrong with it, where you will get a maximum support and thumbs up.

Let’s start by answering the first question. Smoking is a Sin. To the second question. It is no where written in the bible. From Genesis to revelation, you can’t anywhere God said or instructed, “do not smoke”.

Why and how is it then a Sin?

Every Cigarette pack has this written on it “Smokers are liable to die young” It has being proven that smoking leads to a lot of diseases such as cancer, and other terminal diseases. But many have paid deaf ears and are blinded to that simple warning of early death.

The sixth commandment in the bible says “You shall not murder.”-Exodus 20: vs 13. – God’s commandments written by God Himself to Moses, the Israelites and to us the present “Abrahamic” descendants. Smoking is suicide – an act of murder. If God therefore hates – frowns at murder it also means Smoking is a SIN.   Every smoker is a potential murderer – committing suicide – SINNING against God. God hates SIN.

The above I believe is the biblical stand on smoking.

I will not fail to state that God is the chief judge - who sees and knows the reasons behind our  actions. Some do smoke because of cold etc. but we do not have excuses for going against God's will.

Revealed Truth: The Wise Men’s Visit to Jesus.

The bible tells of us of Paul’s advice to his spiritual son to always study the bible at all times. The kind of study referred to here is an in-depth kind – a study with the Holy Spirit as the teacher and interpreter.

People are always lead astray because of the wrong or inadequate knowledge which they have. Hosea 4 v 6 tells a lot about this.  I have always told people not just to listen and accept from the pulpit but also make your own research (study the bible) through help of the Holy Spirit to find out more truth about what you heard from the altar – that is why you have access to the bible and the Holy Spirit residence in you. Many of us are just listening without further studying. What you hear from the altar can either shape or alter your destiny. 

This article is not meant to ridicule any teachers or student of the word. To the teacher, pastors, etc we need to teach with the Holy Spirit inspired accuracy because we are dealing with destinies –bishops, governors, presidents, etc.  

To the sole aim of the article:

Matthew 2 vs 1:7 (You can read the whole passage)

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, ² saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

³ When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. ⁴ And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.

⁵ So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:

⁶ ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
Are not the least among the rulers of Judah;
For out of you shall come a Ruler
Who will shepherd My people Israel.’”

⁷ Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. ⁸ And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also.”

⁹ When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. ¹⁰ When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. ¹¹ And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

¹² Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way.

From the above passage you will notice that the wise men were not three. Hey! Before you think me stupid go through the passage again. The bible said wise men and not three wise men like we have always being told from the pulpit or by Sunday school teachers. Even when you do a google – image search on this same topic, you will see three men assumed to be the three wise men. 

People assume that they were three simply because of the gifts they presented. They could be twenty (20) persons who contributed towards the gifts or whatever is the case. The bible is not a book full of assumptions. Teachers of the gospel should not teach base on assumptions. Teach by precision. It was never three men but three gifts that were presented. 

This is why I said earlier everyone should study his or her bible. Don’t accept everything from everyone concerning the bible hook, line and sinker. That is why you have access to the bible.

His power and Grace did it all

Power: Dynamic ability to cause changes and Grace: undeserved pardon (writer’s opinion about grace) and does not work by luck.

Every Christian is saved by the grace of God. Grace did it all not by our own physical efforts – by strength shall no man prevail 1 sam. 2 vs 9. No one should therefore boast of his own ability when it comes to salvation. Psalm 33:16 “No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength” We are escaping the enemy, Sin which leads to eternal damnation only by the divine intervention of God through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ. This is because He loves us (His creation) and this is why it is not His desire for any to perish.

The love of God is unconditional. Romans 5:8. (NIV).  “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”. He did not just die for us after being saved; He died for us while we were still drunkards, drug addicts, arm robbers, fornicators, liars, adulterers, blasphemers etc. The scripture shows God loves the sinner and the saved equally. It is the love of God over our lives that brings about the grace factor.

Now you that got saved had your deliverance by grace.  Salvation is a gift. You only get it believing in the source – God. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- Ephesians 2 vs 8.  You do not labour for gifts – they have being paid (sacrificed) for by the person providing it. Christ has paid for it (your salvation) already – through His death. We did not labour for it but grace did it all.

Acts 15:11 No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are."

Romans 9:16 It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy.

Who would have saved a gangster like you heading for life imprisonment, demon possessed? What would have qualified you to be called a pastor after your wasted years of killing, stealing, fornication and committing series of abortion – sexual impurity and all manners of mischievous acts? Grace did it all. He sent someone (somehow) to preach to you out of His abundant and unconditional love and you got saved. Grace called you into His palace when you never deserved it. His love for us called us back from our journey to hell. His power and grace did it all.

Christians: Our Love and integrity.

Thou shalt not see thy brother's ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them again unto thy brother.

And if thy brother be not nigh unto thee, or if thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it unto thine own house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it to him again. (Duet. 22 vs 1-2).

Sometime ago I posted this on facebook but today same word struck me again. I have decided to write a little about it. 

 

The Christian community today has lost trust, love and unity. This has made fear, hatred and evil jealousy to eat us up. There is this cold war honestly undeniable going on in the body of Christ-individual and denominational. The above scripture is a full expression of love and how He wants us to live as Christians, neighbours and families. It is unfortunate that brethren do not trust each and so we do not expect to recover missing items. Is this not the reason why phones gets missing in the church, purse gets missing offering hours, why pastor will announce, “Grab your bags during offering/thanksgivings”.

The opening scripture is a picture of how we are supposed to be our brother’s keepers. We all seem to be guilty of this fact.

The Ox referred to in the message does not necessarily mean an Ox. It could be a pet of any kind, wallets, clothes, Visas or other viable documents. It could also be someone you need to preach to - saving a lost soul.

May I ask this question, how many of us will see our property with a friend/stranger which is missing and will not get angry and perhaps call in the police? And it could be he/she found it missing and decided to keep it till you come looking for it.

Now it could be the other way round, you found a friends belongings won’t you take it and never give it back to him especially if it is something you love and you do not have it? Lost! 

God want a sanctified Christian; life, relationship and community. This passage touches each time I read it. Hope it affects your life too.

The Holy Spirit is Not a Liar: Teaching by Illustration Part 1

I have read and heard so many teachings on the topic, Holy Spirit.  Some have really written and preach about it extensively. How ever, I really appreciate their piece as it has helped me to gain more insights.

The Holy Spirit, thou we cannot see it with our optical eyes but it is at work in life of every believer. We know it when we have it. The presence of the Holy Spirit makes a whole lot of difference in the life of a believer. We can not actually the sons and daughters of God without the Holy Spirit being at work in us. For every act of worship (service to humanity, praises etc) we render to God without the Holy Spirit it is usually not acceptable. For they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. It also the Holy resident in us that differentiates us from those in the world.

Illustration: One faithful day, during a church service, the choir ministration was a great one and the house was filled with a kind of anointing but you will tell the kind later on. Not too long in the ministration, a woman who has lusting after a young man who seats at the corner everyday started shouting and screaming. She staggered like a drunkard to where the man was and said, the Holy Spirit said I should marry you. Immediately, the church kept quiet and was happy about the ministration as both of them where single.    

A moment later the pastor ordered the choir to continue in their ministration promising that God will do more great miracles same day. It was just a few minutes later during the second part of the worship that the brother behaved as if he was now in the spirit walked to where the lady was and told the sister, “the Holy Spirit said I should not marry you”. Laughs!  Permit me to laugh at this point. Is the Holy Spirit an author of confusion? No.

If He says a thing then it shall come to pass. Test every Spirit if it is the Spirit of God.

THE MIND, BREAST PLATE AND YOU.

Every action starts with the mind. The mind though not seen, is very powerful and is limitless in how far it can travel. The content of our mind is revealed through our actions. For the mind to be productive it needs to be fed with the right information. The food of the mind – information is got through two out of the five senses, the ear and the eye. Every good and well structured life has its origination from the mind, the decisions we make/take and the words of our lips prove the worth of our mind. If the ear and the eye are corrupt the wholeness of the body is lost. Our utterances create our world.  “A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Pro 18:20-21”

We are also enslaved by our mind. There is no slavery/prison greater than that of the mind. Folks are caged perpetually because their hearts (mind) are yet to be liberated though they be shown born again – enslavement of the Spirit.

The kind of mind we have determines how far we can go with our dreams. Positive minds like the woman with the issue of blood will always overcome obstacles. However high the level at which we have been caged, there is still an opportunity for freedom. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Rom 12:2.” The expresses Apostle Paul’s advice for Christians to have a renewed mind. Your donkey years of being a Christian do not guarantee that you have a renewed mind.

Paul says in Gal 3:1 “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?” You might have seen this happening yet, you are still like  the Galatians. They have been with Paul yet unbelief rocks their minds. For a renewed mind and personality we need light (knowledge) to shine in our heart. Hos 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children” The knowledge we lack has often enslaved us as in the above scriptures, Hosea 4: 6.

Joh 10:10 Says“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”.

Notice that the first thing the devil does is to steal before he kills and destroys. He steals the truth you have learnt. The truth is your personality in Christ. He makes you believe that the name, Jesus is no longer a strong tower. He makes blur the clear vision you have about yourself from Christ. Then disbelief sets in.  Hosea 4: 6 confirms that the only reason why God’s people are destroyed is because they lack knowledge (truth). Some think he steals your property. Far from it, he is after the heart. When he succeeds with the above, the individual begins to loose his right standing with God, begins to be killed and destroyed. It is then just about now that he begins to affect your properties because he has succeeded in disconnecting you from your source (God). The pride of the devil is to see Christians falling and deprived of their inheritance.

But there is a seasoned secret which we can use to withstand and protect ourselves from the flying darts of the enemy, it is the breast plate. Like the man in a battle field, we need to have our breast plate on at all time. Even when our shield fails us the breast plate of righteousness remains. The devil is always on the watch for a shift of our breast plate. If he finds one, he penetrates if not immediately adjusted. A shift results when we loose focus and sin begins to rule over our lives. He then throws the arrow of unbelief to corrupt all you must have known about God. The devil being wicked won’t stop at working to destroy a believer. We therefore need to check and be conscious of our breast plate of righteousness always.

The breast plate is righteousness. For us to be and live a righteous life, we need to study the bible very well so that we will not tossed about by every wind of doctrine. The bible is the sword of the Spirit. Being knowledged means you having the sword of the Spirit.  No wonder Paul urged Timothy his spiritual son to study the scripture always. The devil is always afraid of the word of God because he (devil) understands the efficacy of the word. The breast is not prayer. Jesus did not overcome by when the devil tried the firmness of His plate. The breast plate of righteousness will always protect us from falling.   Gal 5:1 “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”  

Breast plates are also of different  dimension/sizes. The more thicker a breast plate is the more effective it is in protecting the individual. Paul being a father discovered Timothy breast plate was not hard enough, he then instructed him to study more. How thick is your breast Plate? Get yourself soaked in the word.

The power of knowledge

Knowledge is good. No doubt. It also helps to build our mindset. Knowledge is very powerful. Knowledge is light. Whatever you are not knowledge at might make you go stagnant and from observation spend more.  Being rooted in knowledge is the first step to overcoming. There is an important thing we all need to know. This is what am about to unveil.

The kind of knowledge we seek after determines our actions. Our actions are usually the product of our mind or mindsets. And our mind cannot think in any line of direction if it had not being feed with information concerning what it is acting on. We are either made or crippled with the kind of knowledge we seek. The world is seeking for knowledge like never before. No wonder the bible says in the last day’s knowledge shall increase. It is really evident now. Eve was carried away her quest for knowledge. Yes! She acquired the knowledge but where did it land her and the family. People who seek the wrong knowledge always get wrong things. Majority are running after acquiring knowledge for fraudulent acts. Yes! You might get it. But guess what? It can land you into an everlasting regret. A lot of passages in the bible talks about knowledge especially in proverbs, ecclesiastics and some selected biblical passages. One major thing we need to put in order is to help people understand how to acquire the right knowledge. I will make a request here that pastors, teachers, evangelist and apostles should educate sheep in their care.

Sometimes, I marvel at the level of negative confessions among men of God. And a look at the congregations this folks are mentoring- the product of his confessions (negativity). Please if you still find yourself under the tutelage of men like this, its time you take to your heels. There are powers in confessions. Confess negatively and you would see negative things all around you. The bible makes us to understand that “He (GOD) has said that we might boldly”. And also “they overcame by the testimonies of their mouth”. You do not experience good things by closing your mouth. The bible says with mouth confessions are made unto salvation (deliverance). Your confessions can deliver you from the pools of the devil. All through Jesus’ temptation He did not fight or pick up quarrels with the devil but He quoted the scriptures – He had the knowledge. Paul told Timothy, “Study to show thyself approved before God” He only wanted Timothy to acquire knowledge for overcoming.  Your problems should not stop you from saying what God has said. For every situation in life, God has provided an answer for it. Hosea says “my people perish but for the lack of knowledge”.

 How far are you ready to run after knowledge? It also determines how much dominion you want to have. Because the knowledge of God will never land you in bondage.

CHRISTIAN RIGHTS

In my years of studying the bible, I have found so many truths that Christians are yet to embrace. This newsletter is poised to bring you this truth and the facts about successful life from the bible. First, it is worth knowing that truth is a liberator. You cannot come in contact with the truth and remain the same or retrogressive. Sometimes, the knowledge (truth) we lack is reason we live in lack.  The truth we shall be learning in this edition is our privileges we ought to be enjoying as Christians.

 Now we have received, not the Spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.   (1 Cor. 2 vs 12). From the day I came across the above scripture through the help of the Holy Spirit my life has changed drastically.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world but the spirit which is God; tell us that God has His marvelous of Spirit that He gives to His children. You cannot have this Spirit from God unless the seal of sonship of God is upon you. Nevertheless the foundation of the Lord standeth sure, having this seal, the Lord knoweth them that his. And let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. “When sin leaves your life good signs will flow” David Oyedepo, Winner’s Chapel. Until you are clean and good smelling you can’t attract God’s presence. A lover of purity is God’s delight. Presenting your body pure and holy before Him is best offering you can offer to God. A shift out of righteousness is embracing the devil and its problems. A righteous man no matter how little his faith is has a 24/7 access to heaven. Heavens will always listen to him because of the purity connection. “Cleave to the source that you might become a success”. The source is God. The connecting power is purity. Being born again is an spiritual exercise with earthly evidences. Being born again distinguishes you from the natural man; so you can’t suffer affliction like an ordinary man. The bed rock for every successful living is righteousness. Righteousness exalts a nation…He has therefore given us this great gift of  salvation through the death of His son, Jesus Christ, so you can enjoy a stress free life. The scripture further tells us that we were not given the spirit of the world-  wickedness, hatred, anger, adultery, fornication, lying stealing but the spirit which is God – Holiness, Joy unlimited, peace, gentleness, goodness, faith and of sound mind. It is the person who hates evil who is be endowed with the Holy Spirit. This helps him to know how to do well and escape the consequences of sin.

The word “received” tells us that a gift has been given to us. Holy Spirit reveals to us those things that have been freely given to us by God. “… that we might know the things that are freely given to us by God” in my years of studying as a student, I have learnt that “freely given” things are not to be paid for the person offering them already made all the necessary sacrifice to make you happy. So God has made us happy by giving us these free gifts like healing, “by his stripes ye are healed”; freedom, “The thief has tome to steal, kill and destroy but I have come that ye might have life and have more abundantly”;   security, “I am your shield and buckler”; joy, “I will give joy for your sorrow”; victory, “be of good cheer, I here am to calm the sea”; and so many more. Sickness, diseases, frustration, agony, depression therefore are not part of God’s plan for your life. I have an agreement with God that I will not be sick not because I hate drugs or frightened at the sight of needles but because it is my right in Christ to enjoy good health. You too can make an agreement with God today. I therefore challenge you to stand up now and curse that sickness, barrenness, problem, situation to come to an end in Jesus name. God says I can do far above exceedingly all that you can ever ask or think about. Your faith can make it work when it is activated. Don’t let the devil be your boss. God has made you to be in charge.  A lady once said that somebody step on spiritual poison and his leg is swollen. Immediately I was angry and then asked a question, what have you done about it in place of prayer? Without waiting for response, I quickly said “you package it back to where it came from”. With that faith we prayed and couple of days by God’s grace the legs were restored to normalcy. The devil does not have access or authority over your life unless you allow him. Understand that you are a miraculous child of a miraculous God. No wonder the Psalmist said “Am fearfully and wonderfully made that is why the devil tremble whenever he hears me say am God’s own and the apple of His eyes.” So God is never happy to see His children suffering.  You only suffer when you don’t know your right. Your problems or challenges cannot make God to change His name; it will not make Him leave His throne. He cannot deny Himself or what He says He is. He is never tired of hearing our prayers. Whatsoever ever is born of God (a carrier of God kind of life) overcomes the world. If we have the life that Christ has, we should have proofs He had. You cannot be a victim when your father is Jehovah.

PATTERNS: OVERCOMING THEM.

Patterns are laid down procedures or structures. A set pattern will always produce the same result when followed. Those who set pattern can always determine the end results of the followers before they get to the end. You cannot follow a pattern and don’t end up in line with the results of the pattern. If you must achieve a different result in the midst of set patterns you need to do a different thing. Like the saying goes, it is insanity to do same thing over and over again expecting different result. Results are for those who work for it. And how you work could also determine your results.  A pattern could be physical or spiritual.

Physical pattern could be visible structures. These structures can easily be dealt with physical combat sometimes. But there are times it requires a spiritual force. On the other hand, spiritual forces are not seen but can be felt. Unlike the physical pattern which is often at a particular place, spiritual forces are always hovering around. An evidence of this is in the book of Job when the sons of God gathered and the devil (symbol of evil spirit) came also with them. God saw him and asked him from whence cometh thou? The reply: From going to and fro the earth. He is never sited in a particular place. No wonder the Bible referred to him like a roaring lion looking for whom to devour.

Spiritual patterns are often negative which I call negative circles thou they are sometimes positive. These negative circles are re-occurring decimals. They can also be referred to as satanic forces.  These patterns could be marital, societal, financial, premature deaths; educational patterns etc that runs in the family from one generation to other. They could be generational curses. The bible made mention of visiting the inequities of His sons upon generations. This alone is evidence that it exists. Until you break out of these negative circles where it is affecting you, you might not be able to experience victory over that particular situation.

This circle brings stagnation, retardations, and all kinds of negative results. But I thank God for the great name; Jesus He has given to us to overcome every plans of the enemy at the mention of that name and the prevailing blood of the son.

There was a time when the children of God use to go to Jerusalem to worship but Jesus came and broke that pattern. The pattern of offering burnt sacrifices existed but it was this Jesus that changed the pattern. Patterns do exist. Those who want to break this pattern will always need to do extra. I mean go extra mile. Some family, late marriages is other but some folks say it sometimes like that. There are families who live on mortgage from one generation to the other. For some, it could be a familiar kind of sickness but the good news is that at the name of Jesus we will be able to overcome.

Breaking out of these patterns requires you to know the kinds that exist in your life or family. Hosea says my people perish for the lack of Knowledge. Patterns sometimes does not require prayer, some need mere application of knowledge. Actually, not everything requires payer some requires mere application of knowledge. Just like Jesus, He did not pray when the devil tempted three times after His forty days prayer and fasting.  Thank God for the bible that helps us to know our right in Christ. No power is able to destroy except you allow it.

Patterns are there, don’t think they otherwise. I know some folks might overlook this.

APPRECIATION: THE WHEN, HOW AND WHY.

Some days back I listened to a message that has inspired me to write on the above subject.

Irrespective of our gender, age we all want to be appreciated or praised for whatever good we have done. But one thing that we must know is that it should be done at the right time and cheerfully and not out of necessity.  There is also this need for us to know when to do. 

We tend to appreciate people better when we hear of their death or see their casket at the time of eulogy.  At this point you hear people say all manner of kind words about him. Some folks write book in memory of the dead. Some write pages of praises about the dead. I tag it the wrong time because at this point it is irrelevant. Wouldn’t it be better if the person was alive to read about his praises? 

Appreciation is meant to propel a living person not the dead into doing more good. Why appreciate a dead man when he can’t tell you thanks. Imagine if he/she were there to take all the praises at this particular time, he/she certainly would be happy. I have never seen a man who hates to be praised. 

Then do it why the person is with you. We also see people cry about the death of a beloved one, spouse, brother or friend. Death can come at any time but we do not pray to die unfruitful or premature. Did you ever express love to the beloved why he was alive?  Was he valued by you while he was here with you? How did you cherish the moment you shared together or you never did. Stop waiting for people to die to show them how you care about them. You may decide to offer a befitting burial ceremony. Did you ever offer him a befitting Birthday ceremony? Now is the time.

There is this tendency of postponing our expression of gratitude. I called it wickedness. Those who do this I think them unthankful and heartless. Whoever shows us a little kindness no matter the status of the person, there is need for appreciation. Some parents are guilty of this as they often fail to appreciate their children for their good job at home.

Some people still have this character of “never showing appreciation”. They think it is not important. Unthankful nature can break a relationship. If you want to keep your relationship be thankful. Those who are thankful always get more and are happier. 

It is wrong for those around you to beg you for encomiums. Don’t let them gasps for it especially when they deserve it. Be generous with it and do it cheerfully. Do not procrastinate about it. Always do it immediately whenever you notice an act of kindness shown towards you. It opens rooms for more and releases energy for excitement.  It will make you feel great and increase your integrity. 

KEYNOTE:

Do not wait for the casket to show appreciation.

Encomiums are meant for everybody irrespective of age or gender.

Always do it at the right time; never procrastinate about it.

Be generous and cheerful about it.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TEMPLE

Every physical temple is laid by human hands with bricks and cement etc. Yes it is usually beautiful. We all admire it. We go in there to have a worship service. That is the temple made by human (flesh). No matter how beautiful and maintained the physical temple is it will go rust someday. But there is this temple owned, furnished and well patterned/structured by God, beautiful and mobile.

Our bodies are the temple of the living God not only that, we are also Gods. Wow! TEMPLE + GOD = Divinity, that is what we are. Don't let tell you otherwise. You have being configured and structured Like a God; let us make man in our own Image and after our likeness-Just like GOD himself. What a privilege to be called his SON. His seal of SONSHIP has made us JUST like him.

Another beautiful thing about the being the temple of God is that sickness, diseases, pain and frustration can not dwell in that body because God has no relationship with the devil. The devil brings illness and anguish but Christ brings’ healing. Which would you rather choose? Even Christ advised us to choose life and blessing. For what communion has light with darkness. When Christ comes in every negative thing gives way. All you find is Joy, happiness etc. He becomes the caretaker of our body.

What makes our body the most beautiful temple?

Originally, if not for the fall of Adam, the first man there might not have a question of beautiful temple because all the temple would have being beautiful. When the bible says our body is the temple of the Lord, it is actually referring to those who are working in accordance with the scriptures, those who are born again. From the moment you give your life to Christ through faith he comes down through the Holy Spirit and fill (dominates) your body.  The Spirit now empowers you to work towards the edification of His name, Jesus.

Not until your body is the temple of the Lord you are not saved. Being saved (born again) makes you a sweet smelling savour unto God. So, all you need to do is to make that confession with your mouth and believe in your that Jesus is Lord then you will be save. Being saved is making is act of making your body the temple of the living God. IF YOU, I mean You are reading this and you are yet to Give your life to CHRIST, then u are missing a big time it is the greatest gift without a THREAT. So make up your mind today. Where do you want to spend eternity, Hell or Heaven? Don’t be deceived they are both REAL.

Your body is the temple of the Lord when you are saved.

How does this temple get stained?

“A man is tempted when he is drawn away out of his own lost”, that is what the bible says. SIN stains the temple.  If don’t run after inequity every day your life God will continue to make you beautiful. Every day you remain Holy and Faithful, He will continually beautify you.   Like Joshua I challenge you, choose you this day whom you will serve.

We often spend a lot of time feeding this physical bodies of ours neglecting the spiritual body. The physical body requires our cash, time we spend in front of the mirror and shopping and many more other activities. One question I won’t to ask is this: How many minutes do you spend with God? Folks are always in a haste to leave the presence of God because of the cares of this world. Some time we often complain of about the preceding pastor/priest of testing taking too much of out time. We no longer want to attend services more than two hours. This gradually stains the temple.

THE FOCAL POINT OF THE CHURCH AND CHURCH LEADERS (2)

In the house of the poor, there are always alot of prayer points. Pastors bind, lose, and raise fire. But is that actually the problem? Poverty will continue if there is no shift in mindset and opportunity created. Majority of the blind men we have in Nigeria and in the world are beggars and in the same countries some are employers of labour. Being blind physically is bad but it is worst when it is the blindness of the mind. With physical eyes you can only see little but with the eyes of the mind you see beyond your next neighbour(s). However in praying for these fellows we should remember that the problem is not always demons or witches but physical hunger. The right kind of teaching should be enforced in our churches today. Some are sick may be the mind kind of sickness. What do you really think is the cause of their sickness? I sometime wonder why teachers of the gospel would see the needy in the church and won't dare to help but keep praying for God's divine help upon their lives. The bible says when we see our enemy hunger and we ask to them to pray, were then is the love of God? I wrote some time ago about the first Church at Antioch (the part 1). We are drifting away from the old landmark. But we have to understand that the church ought to be a place of refuge  for the helpless and the poor.

The time has come for us to live above just preaching to living out the word. People now add to the Bible by teaching contrary things. The bible is not a constitution made by man that can be amended    but the good news is that the bible is the book of life. Stop "painting" the words of God. Stop twisting the bible. The word of God according to the Bible is Yea and Amen; it means it is complete on its own. God did not make mistake about any thing in the bible. Folks may tag me the "old fashioned Christian" for what am about to unveil this year as the spirit leads.

Recently, God drew my attention to something now very common in the society. A pastor will place his and his wife's picture on the church Sign Post. Who are they advertising, the church, themselves or both?  God remains the owner of the church and Him alone. These things never existed before now.  I thinks it just doesn’t matter will be thought of some people. But I think it does that why God drew my attention to it.

There are men who stand on the pulpit only to talk ill of other ministers’ just like I heard this morning a man of God ridiculing a prophet of God. Let’s be careful.

THE FOCAL POINT OF THE CHURCH AND CHURCH LEADERS

Are members of a church living in one accord like the first church in Antioch? I see a big difference between the church of today and that of the OLD (Jesus and the Apostles) as recorded in the BIBLE. Are we not missing it all? So many church leaders are not following the footprint of JESUS. Are they? The beauty of the church is being lost because of wrong church leaders (including some leaders without focus and vision). In our churches today let’s be careful the way we treat individuals (Rich discriminating against the poor). You are privileged by God's grace to have what you've got already. The church old shared things together. No vacuum was left thou may be created.

There is also this need for the church to begin to empower its members. That is teaching them how to fish and equip them with fishing tools. If the church empowers five in six (6) months, sooner or later in two years it should be reflecting on the church account. Do not forget in haste that those empowered within that two years should be able to empower one (1) each. They will also stand as a living proof in that church. Imagine what it means for a person to get help from a church (He automatically testifies about that church wherever he/she goes). For many churches who just to want increase their account, how much have help have you rendered to your members. Churches are suppose to empower, help you discover your purpose in life, follow your purpose and make sure you achieve goals and then the ultimate, ensure you will be seated at the right hand of God on the last day. Does it mean that this is not included in the core purpose of the Church? NO. A church were you go to and you don’t have a positive shift in your mindset either for kingdom exploits, financial exploit etc is the wrong place. Church leaders, do you think your members will make contributions in the church when they do not have enough to eat?

More painful is the fact that pastors, bishops or church leaders in general are beginning to meddle with the “well placed” in the society because of money. Some leaders will invite them for church not minding where they got their money from. Many (church leaders) say after the program they will sanctify the money with prayer to make it fit for God’s use. Have you ever considered why GOD stopped David from building him a house? Perhaps NO. Let me tell you. David hands were stained with BLOOD. Is it not funny that GOD stopped David even thou HE sent him to the battle field? That is how God hates polluted offering. Read this, a true story. A pastor saw a governor walked into his church, he immediately ask the choir to change song to “those God anointed for wealth are coming” – an Igbo song.

What do you have to say in a church where pastor has set of favourite people in his church? These set of people he gives them preferential treatment like visitation and church positions/assignments. Sometimes the amount of gift you present to him determines if you fall into this group. Should wealth be a criterion? Or is wealth now used to measure HOLINESS? Jesus never did these things. We are warned.

The Power of TITHING.

The issue of tithing should be highly emphasized as many people in the body of Christ are yet to understand the meaning of tithing. From the day, through the help of the Holy Spirit I understood the meaning of tithing, my level of income has never being the same.  Tithe or tithing was not initiated by a man or by your pastor but it is a kingdom obligation for us to fulfil. Fulfilling it is a step in the direction of wealth.  

I can remember before I learnt about this great secret about tithing that before the end of the month, I will be short of cash (My bank account was always empty before the end of the month). Sometimes, I had to borrow money to take care of myself and needs while waiting for the next salary. This might as well be your situation at the moment. But my prayer for you is that as you read this, there will be a turnaround in your mindset about tithing. Amen. One day I listened to one of my bishops teach, DAVID OYEDEPO  about tithing, I told God I want to “bring” my tithe into HIS store house for the next SIX months and I will know if you are really behind tithing. Honestly for the first three month of fulfilling my end of the promise it looked like nothing was going to happen. But from the fourth month my heavens opened and I began to receive gifts in an unusual way, I began to spend less than I earned because I realised the devil has being making me spend or pay bills unnecessarily. The SIX MONTH came and I heard loud and clear from GOD talking to me “Son by Monday you won’t be working here any more, get ready for a new office” I was surprised because this was a Friday afternoon.  But, has he said it, it shall come to pass.  Saturday morning I got the new appointment. Not just that, I was begged to resume on Monday. From that month every other month has been full of  testimonies. The Power of TITHING.

You might say everything is alright with me even though I do not “bring” my tithe to the store house of God. I dare you to “bring” your tithe into the store house of God if your income will not increase. You must have being paying tithe to the devil if you have been doing that to GOD. The unnecessary expenditure I made then was my contribution to the devil. It could be sickness, accidents, infact you name them because according to Malachi 3vs 10, God promised to put away all evil things and bring us good things and even restore the years the waster (devil) has taken from us. Put God to test now and you won’t regret you did.

It is also surprising to know that some pastors do not fulfil this obligation of tithing. It is not meant for your members alone. There are open doors in fulfilling the tithe obligation.

I am careful not to use the word PAY YOUR TITHE because the bible also said “Bring your tithe.” The word payment is synonymous with debt or bills you are owing but "bring" indicates possession. So the one-tenth you of what you earn every month or day is theLORD’s ,“bring”  it to His store house and God will bless you. Read Malachi 3vs 9 – 12 for more.

IS THIS THE RIGHT THING?

I wonder at the level of moral decadence, how the spirit of indecent dressing  has taken over the society. Nudity is nothing to the males neither to the females any more. A society where Boys now dress to expose their buttocks, under wears etc without shame in the name of fashion. They call it LOW WAIST. And this is eating deep into the society. Before I proceed, I do like to state here for those us who are not aware, Low Waist is a prison kind of dressing that originated from the "white's" prisons. So, if you do like to be regarded as if you are in the prisons? You Must CONTNUE. Hey! But don't forget there is way that seems good to a Man and the end is judgement (condemnation). This kind of dressing is also very common in church. Why won't it be when churches have refused to follow and teach biblical standards? Pastors now conduct marriages where the ladies breast is exposed more than 80% and same kind of dressing for the bridesmaids and bridal train. If the Society is accepting it, should the church also accept this? NO. I watch some marriage ceremonies on TV, and I wonder if the man that joined the couple in marriage is actually a Christian let alone to think if he is a Pastor. If churches (pastors) can't correct this saying "it doesn't matter" I wonder where the change will come from.  MANY PASTORS WILL GO TO HELL am very sorry to say this but it is the truth. Watch this pastors that keeps on saying it does not matter there are usually no difference between them and those in the world. I do not think that there is anything that rubs a man of GOD's anointing (presence) like Immorality. Some deacons and deaconesses in the church are not exonerated as some of their children are disciples of indecent dressing. Deaconess themselves comes to church with their chest 70% open. If a mother in the church is dressing this way, what do you think about their children or those who take them as GOD mother(s). Wait a minute, some pastors wives cannot be left out on this Issue. I don't really know where God will start his judgement. Still talking about immorality, Sex is now very common among teenagers, adolescents and unmarried adults. Teenagers? You may ask. Yes, some do watch Porn and some of them have been caught in the act. WHAT DO YOU NOW THINK ABOUT IMMORALITY AND OUR SOCEITY? Pre-marital sex means nothing to the youth. They say everybody is doing it. Listen, it doesn’t make it right. SEX STILL HAS A PRICE. There is still Joy in sanctified sexuality. 

Another thing that gives me sleepless night is that some of our pastors today are religious pastors. They study the bible like the Pharisees in the bible and work according to the letters. They see the bible like a literature book. These sets of pastors do not have revelations from the word of God. Hence whenever they stand on the podium to teach or preach they tell us mere stories and before 20 min., they are exhausted. If you have revelations from the word of God you can teach the bible for at least 50min.

Like a mentor of mine, Pst. maxwell Ogaga posted on face book recently, "In the 21st Century are exchanging the Gold for brass? Many today are more versed in motivational speakers quote than sound doctrines, are we beginning to lose a generation because of this?”  Pastors no longer teach what the bible says (sound doctrines). They teach other things without biblical foundations. Any foundation not rooted in the word of God must fail. Are pastors or teachers of the Gospel then called to be motivational speakers or to teach the gospel. Don't be in a hast to forget that "in Righteousness shall you be established and seek ye first the kingdom of God..." Isa 54vs 14 & matt. 6 vs 33.
